Judicial District Chambers
In each of the 26 judicial districts, there is a judicial district chamber consisting of all the judicial officers of that judicial district. This chamber has legal personality.
The judicial district chamber is governed by a Council that is chaired by a chairman. This Council has the following specific duties:
- to enforce order and discipline among the judicial officers of the judicial district and to ensure the application of the laws and regulations relating to them;
- to impose disciplinary sanctions that fall under the scope of its authority;
- to avoid or settle all disputes that may arise among judicial officers in relation to their rights, duties and obligations
Judicial officers are subject to internal discipline. Any complainant may approach the chairman of the judicial districtchamber. The chairman will ensure that the complaint is investigated and when there are grounds for doing so, the Council of the Judicial District Chamber will impose a disciplinary sanction. The Council must investigate the case and impose disciplinary sanctions, if necessary. Only the District Court can suspend or dismiss a judicial officer. An example of a professional error is the failure to observe the statutory tariff.
